Summer Fruit Portrait

5 x 7 oil on hardboard
I can't help it. These luscious little fruits nag at me daily for a portrait. This nectarine sat patiently on a white plate while I rendered its wonderful summertime color. I am wondering if another nectarine will come along today or if it will be some other kind of jewel begging for attention.

Summer Fruit

When summer fruit starts arriving in the store I fall in love. These big beautiful nectarines--plump and juicy--are my fantasy.

Blue Bell Field

Finding time to paint lately has been difficult with graduations, Father's Day, and all the end of the school year expectations, but I was able to sneak into my studio this morning and paint this field of blue bells. It was a fun little painting--5 x 7 oil on hardboard.

Stormy Pond

This is a typical Northwest afternoon--stormy sky over the evergreen hills.

Cool Apples

8 x 10 oil on Gessoboard
It is pouring rain today. The drizzle feels cool after some record breaking hot days last week. With that in mind, I painted some cool apples.

Square Plate Apple

I haven't painted a still life for a while, but had an inspiration this morning.
