Sunflowers--American Still Life Oil Painting

This bright little 5x7 inch oil painting is finally dry. I painted in December, but the paint is very thick and has been drying in my studio ever since. Although I don't often paint flowers, this one was fun to create with heavy impasto for every petal. Here is a closeup of some of the brush strokes:It is now listed for sale in my Etsy Gallery for $50.00 plus $6.50 for shipping to US addresses. You can see more closeups of the brush stroke or purchase by clicking here.

Nancy, I love the way you have handled the sunflowers. Impasto just seems to fit the sunflower! I did one recently where I used heavier strokes and it was fun! Yours is beautiful!
