Winter Shores Inspiration

Yesterday morning I painted this little 5x7 inch oil painting. I was attracted to the cold, winter sky and the silhouette of the tree on the shore of the lake. I found the photo on which the painting was based at Morgue File, a wonderful resource for free photos. The license at Morgue File gives artists permission and a lot of leeway in adapting photos, so I visit often to find inspiration. Eventually I will place this painting up for sale at Small Impressions Gallery with some of my other small landscape paintings which can be purchased online with just a few mouse clicks and a Paypal account. Thank you. I'm so glad it turned out well. It was one of those that just seemed to paint itself!

Such a lovely sunset. I really wish I was there right now and I hate the cold. The colours are just perfect. A lot of the paintings on this page (Feb 15-24) are nice, but this one really sings to me. Keep up the good work!
