Yesterday morning I painted this little 5x7 inch oil painting. I was attracted to the cold, winter sky and the silhouette of the tree on the shore of the lake. I found the photo on which the painting was based at Morgue File, a wonderful resource for free photos. The license at Morgue File gives artists permission and a lot of leeway in adapting photos, so I visit often to find inspiration. Eventually I will place this painting up for sale at Small Impressions Gallery with some of my other small landscape paintings which can be purchased online with just a few mouse clicks and a Paypal account. Wow!!! This is really beautiful love the sky, you can feel the cold from here, such a beautiful scene. Really love your tree, beautiful piece of art as always!!
Great painting, Nancy. And thanks for the Morgue link.
Thank you. I'm so glad it turned out well. It was one of those that just seemed to paint itself!
Such a lovely sunset. I really wish I was there right now and I hate the cold. The colours are just perfect. A lot of the paintings on this page (Feb 15-24) are nice, but this one really sings to me. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, Dani. I'm so glad you like it!
