Bright Field

I played with color today as you can probably tell. I exaggerated the field color because I was in the mood for something bright. I painted the leafless trees first with a purple acrylic paint. Then I gave the entire painting an oil wash of alizarin crimson. When the wash had dried, I added the sky, the background trees, and glazed in some yellow in the foreground. The very last step was to add some dark grass to the foreground. This painting is an 8 x 10 painting on gessoed hardboard.
