Today's painting is a sunny cow. Every once in a while I get an itch to paint a cow portrait. They have curvy, quirky shapes that make creation a lot of fun. Working on this little lady, I was focused not only on her shape, but on values--the light and the dark of her coat--making sure the sunshine sparkled as she stood and posed for me. The painting is a 5x7 inch oil painting on a gessoed hardboard panel. This painting has SOLD.

Afternoon Cow--Original Painting
