Today I am sharing another little 4x5 inch pear painting. Experimenting with values, colors, light, and shadow is practiced easily on these simple still life subjects. Recently I've been working at limiting my brush strokes, too. I would like to get to the point where I always know before I make a stroke exactly what color, shape, and intensity I will be applying. With discipline, I may eventually arrive at that point. Dabbing away without thinking is as lazy habit I try to avoid.
